The goal of the international Gamification and Programming Education event is to disseminate information on application of gamification to motivate and increase engagement of computer programming students.
We start with two lectures providing rich introduction to the problems of programming education and the concept of gamification. Then, the context, goals and results achieved so far (Gamification Scheme for Programming Exercises and Data Exchange Format for Gamified Programming Exercises) of the Framework for Gamified Programming project shall be presented.
The central part of the event will be the “Programming lesson of my dreams” competition during which student teams will present their own ideas for improving the process of teaching programming. The final part brings one more thematic lecture and the competition reward ceremony.
